Acknowledgements

First, I would like to thank all of my graduate professors in the Professional Writing program at Kennesaw State University for the energy, knowledge and professionalism that they brought to the classroom. In addition, there are specific professors who have made an important impact on me. I would like to thank Dr. Robert Barrier for his constant support and valued direction as my advisor in helping me discover my research niche in technology and teaching writing that began in my first graduate course with him. Next, I would like to thank Dr. Sarah Robbins for her inspiration in all things academic and for her help in providing opportunities for me where I was able to develop a confidence about my academic pursuits through the projects we have worked on together. Also, I would like to thank Dr. Margaret Walters for her example of a consummate professional writer and the joyousness and enthusiasm that she brings to the classroom. I would also like to thank Dr. Susan Hunter for her leadership and support of the students of the MAPW program. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. John Evans for helping me see that being myself as a writing teacher is most important. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Howard Shealy for the use of his library of books and his continued support for my varied professional and personal endeavors and achievements.

Finally, I would like to thank all of my family: Phyllis Dyer, Ed and Colleen Trainor, John and Heather Trainor, and Janis and Andy Doss. Mostly, I would like to acknowledge my husband, Andrew, for his belief in me and his undying devotion and support in whatever I chose to do. Lastly, I would like to thank my son, Mason, for inspiring me to be the best person and mother I can be and for helping me keep perspective on the important things in life.
